Half a million ID. cars have been delivered – Volkswagen reaches the milestone a year earlier than planned

Since the first copies of the ID.3 were handed over to customers in October 2020, Volkswagen has delivered 500,000 copies of models within the electric ID. family worldwide.

Volkswagen is well on its way with the electrification of its vehicle fleet. A year ahead of schedule, the brand has reached another milestone in the implementation of its ACCELERATE strategy to become a zero-emissions, software-driven mobility provider.

Volkswagen’s order backlog remains large.
– We are doing our utmost to deliver the approximately 135,000 ID. cars that our customers have ordered as quickly as possible. However, due to the persistently pressured situation in terms of component supply, we have to constantly adjust production, Labbé continues.

Volkswagen will only manufacture electric cars in Europe in 2033. As early as 2030, fully electric cars will account for at least 70 percent of Volkswagen’s total sales in Europe. In the US and China, the company aims to have a share of electric cars of over 50 percent during the same period.
